Happy Friday! Lindsey here with my first ever post for Scrap ‘N Stamp! So it’s a happy day for me, and I hope it is for you too, as I have a colourful birthday card to share… and a chance to win some fun paper crafting supplies! Here’s my card:
Rainbows and gold are hard to beat, even if it is after St. Patrick’s Day! I’d never attempted ink-blending a panel before hot foiling, so I decided to give it a try. For my rainbow, I used distress oxides in spun sugar, festive berries, wild honey, bundled sage, mermaid lagoon, and wilted violet. My favourite part is flicking water onto the inks and blotting with a tissue to get all the fun splotches. Going all out, I also added some gold and black spatters, as well.
Once my panel was dry, I let my Gemini FoilPress heat up, and foiled my sentiment with gold, adding the little “to you” underneath. It still wasn’t sparkly enough, so I matted my rainbow panel on some Concord & 9th glitter cardstock. My last step (which now I realize might have been one step TOO far, LOL) was to add some black Nuvo drops on either side of the sentiment.
Have you tried heat foiling? I have a giveaway today of the Glimmer faux script happy birthday die I used for this card, as well as two rolls of Gemini foil, in gold and silver shimmer. For your chance to win, leave a comment here on the Scrap ‘N Stamp blog as well as on my blog, Bashful Blogging! You can enter until March 31st.
Thanks for checking in today, and I hope you enjoy a crafty start to your weekend!
Love that pretty background and the foiled sentiment! Beautiful card!
I have not tried heat foiling.
Beautiful card!! Love it!
Your ink blending is INCREDIBLE! I LOVE the bright colors!!!!
Your blending is beautiful! I wish I could do it as well as you. More practice for me! Love this!
Your ink blending is lovely! I have not tried hot foiling, but have seen how it really adds that special touch. Will have to look at the cost of the machine, but I was going to try using the foil with a stencil and the deco foil transfer gel with no heat. Thanks for sharing, and the chance to win.
Beautiful ink-blended rainbow background and it certainly took the gold foiling wonderfully! Splatters are the perfect special touch!

What an elegant looking card, I love the design and your blending is awesome. I’ve never tried foiling, probably because I don’t have the “stuff” ,
